Move for Melanoma is Back!
Move for Melanoma is an activity challenge that takes place across Canada. The goal of the event is to bring awareness to melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancer and ocular melanoma, while raising funds to support patients affected with these diseases when they need it most.
This year, the event will take place on September 22-24, 2023. As always, participants will be able to choose a physical challenge of their choice to complete on the weekend of the event. Participants will form teams and, together with their friends and family, try to reach their personal fundraising goals.
We’ve made it super easy for you to participate! To get started, sign up here. You can register as a Team Captain, as an individual or join an existing team. Once you’ve registered, we’ll email you some resources to help you recruit team members and encourage people to start donating to your team.
Then, on the weekend of Sept. 22-24, we’ll invite you to complete your chosen activity and take lots of pictures to capture the fun.

Move for Melanoma 2022
On September 23-26th, 2022, Save Your Skin Foundation hosted its 4th annual Move for Melanoma activity challenge across Canada to raise funds for melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancer, and ocular melanoma patients.
Over 74 participants and 20 teams across Canada took part in Move for Melanoma! We have been so moved and inspired by this incredible community of patients, families, and friends.
We’d like to thank all those who supported Move for Melanoma by making a donation, sponsoring an event or spreading the word. Thanks to you, the event was a monumental success!

To all participants and donors, your dedication to the fight against skin cancer will help Save Your Skin Foundation continue to support Canadians living with non-melanoma skin cancer, melanoma and ocular melanoma when they need it most. Every single dollar raised through your donations will go directly to patients in the form of cab fares, treatment costs, flights, accommodation and other necessary but costly expenses incurred while receiving treatment.
Move for Melanoma 2021
Last year the event took place on September 25-26th, 2021. As always, participants were able to choose a physical challenge of their choice to complete on the weekend of the event. Save Your Skin Foundation is the only organization in Canada that supports skin cancer patients financially when they need it most. All the money raised through your donations goes directly to patients in the form of cab fares, treatment costs, flights, accommodation and other necessary but costly expenses incurred while receiving treatment.

Move for Melanoma 2020

Move for Melanoma 2019
On September 13 – 16, 2019, Save Your Skin Foundation co-hosted a special Canada-wide fundraising event called MOVE FOR MELANOMA, a weekend-long challenge where teams participated in the activity of their choice while fundraising for the fight against skin cancer.
And we’re doing it again in 2020!
The annual event Move for Melanoma challenges all Canadians to reach their own personal movement challenge (ex. walking, running, cycling, yoga, family activities, favourite sport, or other) while raising awareness and funds to support Canadians touched by melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancers and ocular melanoma. Stay tuned for our 2020 date!
How to Get Involved
We’re asking for the help of all our close friends, patients, survivors, and their families to become Team Leaders to participate in Move for Melanoma all across the country. Our team will help you organize the event, get you registered in our personalized, easy-to-use fundraising platform, and support you in getting the word out – and we will provide you with posters and a Team Lead SYSF jersey to help share the message. Funds raised through the Move for Melanoma challenge go directly to helping Canadian melanoma, skin cancer, and ocular melanoma patients by supporting the work of the foundation and the patients we help both emotionally and financially, and advocating for all patients to have timely, equal access to life-saving treatments and therapies through health policy work.

Making awareness and education available is crucial. Since 2006, the Foundation has worked to raise awareness of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers focusing on education, prevention and the need for improved patient care.
