Move for Melanoma

On September 13 – 16, 2019, Save Your Skin Foundation is co-hosting a special Canada-wide fundraising event called MOVE FOR MELANOMA, a weekend-long challenge where teams participate in the activity of their choice (get creative!) while fundraising for the fight against skin cancer. And we’d like YOU to help us make this event great!

Move for Melanoma challenges all Canadians to reach their own personal movement challenge (ex. walking, running, cycling, yoga, family activities, favourite sport, or other) on any one day over the September 13-16th weekend, while raising awareness and funds to support Canadians touched by melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers, and ocular melanoma.

How to Get Involved

We’re asking for the help of all our close friends, patients, survivors, and their families to become Team Leaders to participate in Move for Melanoma all across the country. Our team will help you organize the event, get you registered in our personalized, easy-to-use fundraising platform, and support you in getting the word out – and we will provide you with posters and a Team Lead SYSF jersey to help share the message.  Email us to get started!

Register or join a team in your city, choose your activity and you’re ready to…

Kathy Barnard will be doing her part by cycling 55 kilometres in Montreal on September 16! Check out her page HERE and the details of the BMS Cycling Team routes HERE.

Funds raised through the Move for Melanoma challenge will go directly to helping Canadian melanoma, skin cancer, and ocular melanoma patients by supporting the work of the foundation and the patients we help both emotionally and financially, and advocating for all patients to have timely, equal access to life-saving treatments and therapies through health policy work.

Team Save Your Skin

Making awareness and education available is crucial. Since 2006, the Foundation has worked to raise awareness of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers focusing on education, prevention and the need for improved patient care.
