What: On September 25-26th, Save Your Skin Foundation will be hosting its 3rd annual Move for Melanoma activity challenge across Canada to raise funds for melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancer and ocular melanoma patients.
This September, join us from your living room, your yard, your neighbourhood park, or your favorite trail to move your body, connect with your teammates and celebrate survivors.
Why: Save Your Skin Foundation is the only organization in Canada that supports skin cancer patients financially when they need it most. All the money raised through your donations goes directly to patients in the form of cab fares, treatment costs, flights, accommodation and other necessary but costly expenses incurred while receiving treatment.
How: We’ve made it super easy for you to participate! To get started, sign up here. You can register as a Team Captain, as an individual or join an existing team. Once you’ve registered, we’ll email you some resources to help you recruit team members and encourage people to start donating to your team.
Then, on the weekend of Sept. 25-26, we’ll invite you to complete your chosen activity and join us for a celebratory virtual party on Sunday night.
Whether you’re a survivor who wants to bring hope to newly diagnosed patients, the family member or friend of a patient who wants to send a powerful message of solidarity to patients across Canada, or a patient who wants to help change the face of cancer for ever, we invite you to take a stance against melanoma and to move with us this September! Hand in hand, we fight melanoma together!
After Party
Move for Melanoma is not only a fundraiser, it’s also an opportunity to showcase and celebrate the amazing community of patients, caregivers, advocates and supporters that allow us at Save Your Skin Foundation to do the work we do. As a token of our appreciation, we’re putting on a virtual after party on Sunday, September 26 at 5pm PT, 8pm ET to celebrate all your hard work and dedication.

Webinar ~ Indigenous Social Determinants of Health: Impacts of COVID-19
During the COVID-19 pandemic, some communities of people were disproportionately affected – especially Indigenous communities. Join Indspire Laureate Dr. James Makokis for a thought-provoking talk about the factors which play into Indigenous health, including general long-standing inequities in access to care as well as those that have been brought to light over the pandemic.
In this webinar, Dr. Makokis will provide an overview of Indigenous health concepts including Indigenous-specific social determinants of health – such as access to adequate care and cultural support – as well as vaccine hesitancy within Indigenous communities.
A live Q&A session will follow. A live French interpretation will be available during the webinar
