Move for Melanoma is an activity challenge that takes place across Canada. The goal of the event is to bring awareness to melanoma, non-melanoma skin cancer and ocular melanoma, while raising funds to support patients affected with these diseases when they need it most. This year, the event will take place on September 22-24, 2023. As always, participants will be able to choose a physical challenge of their choice to complete on the weekend of the event. Participants will form teams and, together with their friends and family, try to reach their personal fundraising goals. We’ve made it super easy for you to participate! To get started, sign up here. Once you’ve registered, we’ll email you some resources to help you recruit team members and encourage people to start donating to your team. A VIKING'S CHALLENGE IS BACK FOR ITS 5TH YEAR! This event offers a hybrid experience with the option of virtual tickets and in-person attendance. Like previous years, you can pledge kilometers and choose to run, swim, jog, or engage in other activities at your own pace. Alternatively, you can assign your accumulated kilometers to an in-person runner as a challenge. If you happen to be at the Gimli Ice Festival, tickets to participate in the Battle of the Bay are available on March 2nd. From March 1-3, 2024, Save Your Skin Foundation hosts the 5th A Viking’s Challenge across Canada, fundraising for skin cancer patients. Founded in 2020 by melanoma survivor Chris Isfeld, who, despite late-stage diagnosis and partial paralysis, ran 30km on frozen Lake Winnipeg, raising $20,000. Open to all since 2021, Chris, now facing a new health challenge, continues to display resilience. Join A Viking’s Challenge 2024 to support Chris and fellow melanoma patients.
