Workshop: Socioeconomic Impact of Inherited Disease
This workshop is sponsored by the CIHR Institute of Genetics to start to tackle the issue of the Socioeconomic Impact of Inherited Disease. Thursday, March 21, 2019, in Ottawa, Ontario, Louise Binder attending.
The goal of the workshop is to generate a clear picture of the burden of inherited disease, with a focus on cost to the Canadian healthcare system. The potential to determine the socioeconomic burden to families and communities will also be considered (for example, parents having to miss work days–or leave the workforce altogether–and determining the economic burden created by informal caregiving, among other factors).
